Electric Conversion and New Build
Voyager Boatyard is proud to be leading the way in zero carbon marine technology, helping to place Plymouth and the Southwest as UK leaders in the conversion and new build of fully electric commercial vessels.
In 2020 we partnered with our sister company Plymouth Boat Trips to launch e-Voyager – the UK’s first sea-going electric ferry. Designed and developed in partnership with the University of Plymouth, the University of Exeter, Teignbridge Propellers, MarRI-UK and EV Parts, e-Voyager now operates as a support vessel carrying passengers on several of Plymouth Boat Trips’ ferry routes. Voyager Boatyard worked closely with the MCA and the Classification Society, to ensure e-Voyager satisfied the exacting standards of both organisations.
